Dogs (I Am Not Titling This Post "Beautiful Brown Bitches With Engorged Teats")

I love looking at all the dogs here.  I'm sure they have a tough life and I try not to think about that, tho. They are my favorite thing to look at while I am driving somewhere.  The first time I saw dogs was at the rock garden  park my first weekend here, there were about 7 of them sleeping on a porch out of the sun together.  I said, hi puppy come be my friend, and was told to never approach the dogs here because they are all wild and besides they don't speak very good English. Well why are they hanging out so peacefully, well dogs are pack animals and they've learned to act appropriately around humans so that they can eat their scraps.  I've always had cats so I don't know much about dogs except that they will lick anything no matter how gross.   Almost every stall on the roadside has 1 or 2 dogs hanging around it, usually sitting in the shade in the backround.  These are not pets, but the wild dogs who eat scraps. I'm assuming they keep mice and rats away because I have yet to see either of those and since there is a ton of construction everywhere, you'd think there'd be a lot. I have NEVER seen a human and dog interact.  They seem to have their own society and I should think they consider humans to be 'different'.  They are very smart about crossing the road and when they are walking a long stretch of road, they usually walk the opposite direction of traffic ( thinking of Homer Simpson telling Lisa that when she's walking down a highway she should walk WITH traffic and wear dark clothing so as not to distract drivers).  Sometimes when I see 2 together it seems like a husband and wife, and once I saw one go up to another and say 'hey I haven't seen you in so long' and they started jumping and playing and then walked together.  I haven't seen a single pup (since none of them are fixed the males have tons of junk hanging out and the females have a jillion huge teats cuz they are still nursing) so the moms must hide them really well until they are ready to be around traffic. Also I'm sure they don't want their little ones to be handled by humans.  There are piles of dirt everywhere (construction) and during the mid day heat, the dogs nap in these piles, sometimes burying themselves halfway.  A  lot of construction workers nap under trees during the day  and if there aren't enough trees to go around, the  dogs can always nap in the dirt piles.  Most of  the dogs are the auburn color of the dirt so they blend in. In this photo there is a dog just hanging out in the shade of the white radio tower at around 10:30 in the morning, just watching traffic.
