1) most food and things have the price printed on it and it is not set by the store, here the MRP is 20 rps. and the green dot on a food label means it's vegetarian 2) outlets have an on/off switch which help save elec. and saves on plug/cord lifespan from not having to plug/unplug so much 3) ditch diggers - great name for a band 4) can't take photos inside temples, this is at Golcunda Fort outside a temple, you can see a god painted on the rock inside the doorway. I've seen painted shrines on the side of the road but since I don't know when I'll come upon one I haven't had any luck taking a picture of one 5) the red dot on the bottom left of the eggs means it's halal ( I think , either that or vegan, and eggs aren't vegan!) CORRECTION RED DOT MEANS NON VEGETARIAN
The power goes out a lot but not for very long usually. Last Sunday I think I counted 7 times in the evening but it was for less than 15 mins each time. On Tuesday it happened twice for about an hour each time and that was the longest I've seen. Of course if it's at night you look out and see candles in every window. The point is that blogging is a lot more efficient that writing people individually especially since I've had about a jillion letters lost during power outages. They changed the numbers of the cable networks on the first and I'm still getting the hang of it. I haven't been watching a lot of tv, but instead downloaded shows on the computer. There are 2 American movie channels (Annie from the early 80's in on right now, the one with Caroll Burnett), VH1, an American sports channel (right now baseball I think Atlanta vs Dodgers, not sure ), Animal Planet and National Geographic. Just about everything else in either Hindi news, music or religious programing. Oh, and FYI, if you see more than 3 guys in an alleyway or empty lot they are most likely playing cricket. All cricket all the time.
